In 2009, Chantel founded Chantel Hampton Music, Inc and began offering freelance vocal performances and recording. Later that year, she released her debut album "Contagious", and was the two-time winner of the VH1 songwriting competition for the title song. Chantel wrote, produced, and charted on Billboard for Producer Rahni Song's "Breakin' The Rules" album, and her single "Star of the Story" was the 3rd most requested song on Adult Contemporary Radio.
In 2013, Chantel was hired as an Assistant Professor at Berklee College of Music where she has trained over 2,000 aspiring musicians in show development, music business, songwriting, and professional skills. She has traveled the world leading teams of faculty while lecturing and training students and faculty. She has done masterclass presentations for the Furtados Music School of Mumbai, India, The SJA Music Institute and the CJ Foundation (Samsung) of Seoul, Korea, Conservatorio De Artes del Caribe of Puerto Rico, and The Apollo Theatre Education of Harlem, NY. In 2017, Ms. Hampton received her Masters in Educational Leadership & Policy from New York University’s Steinhardt School.
As co-founder of music production agency, Spectrum Music Group, LLC , she has worked as a vocalist, recording engineer, and vocal arranger for RCA Music Group's, Charlie Wilson, on his 2018 "In It To Win it" release and received a Grammy nomination for her work on Wilson’s “Made For Love” ft. Lalah Hathaway. Chantel, has also served as a background vocalist and administrative consultant for 5-time Grammy Winner, H.E.R’s tours and live appearances. Additionally, she has served a vocalist, vocal arranger, and/or administrative consultant for artists, networks, productions, and companies such as: Jennifer Lopez, Disney, BET, ABC, NBC, iHeart Radio, Darkchild Entertainment, Alienz Alive, Teyana Taylor, Justine Skye,Muni Long, Jac Ross, Focus Feature’s “The High Note”, Amazon Prime, Red Bull Productions etc. In 2022, she wrote and performed “24/7” for the Whitney Houston film, “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” and served as a background vocalist and arranger for “Don’t Cry For Me.” In 2023 and 2024, she wrote and produced the latest singles for the legendary star, Melba Moore, she was featured as an arranger and vocalist on Shanachie Entertainment’s, Alex Harris’ album “Back to Us”, and a featured songwriter, arranger and vocalist on Dove Award Winning Artist, Alex Jean’s latest EP, “More Than Gold”.
In 2023, Chantel was ordained a Pastor of Worship & Arts under the covering of Bishop Mark Chironna and Church On the Living Edge. She has served as a worship leader and psalmist since the age of 14 and alongside her father, the late, LeRoix Hampton III, trained hundreds of musicians and singers in worship worldwide.
